This harp-inspired toccata, originally composed for chitarone, testifies to how popular the arpa doppia (chromatic baroque harp) was in the early Baroque period.

"Hessen & Highlander 1746" recounts the true but little-known events surrounding the dispatch of 5.100 Hessian soldiers leased to Britain to Scotland in 1746 to help fight rebellious Stuart supporters. When the lines were to be crossed to genocide Gaels, they refused to carry out the orders of the British commander. The actual historical events are vividly narrated by the fictional "Captain Quest", impressively enriched by the historical music pieces recorded on the CD.
